Plan a simple first date without pressure
Choose a plan, agree on the details and leave room to discover whether you connect.
Suggest something easy to arrange
Coffee or a walk in a busy area can make a first conversation straightforward. Offer a specific option and ask what the other person prefers. Agree on the place, time and approximate duration. Each person can arrange their own transport and decide how long to stay; making a plan does not mean agreeing to extend it.
Ask about comfort instead of assuming
Ask whether the location and activity feel comfortable. Do not assume someone wants to hide or explain their trans identity. Let each person decide what to share. Agreeing to a date does not mean agreeing to physical contact, photographs, going somewhere else or having sex.
Make changing plans possible
If the plan no longer appeals to you, communicate clearly and considerately. During the date, listen to requests to stop or change activities. If you would like another meeting, say so without requiring an immediate answer. A first date is an opportunity to get to know someone, not a guarantee of any outcome.
